It’ a good time to work in healthcare, especially if you’re a dental hygienist.
Dental hygienist ranked once more in Forbes’ annual Best Jobs in Healthcare list, which looked at projected job growth, median salary, work environment, potential risks, physical demands, competitiveness, and travel.
According to Forbes, “Extended longevity and an aging population, combined with expanding insurance coverage under Obamacare, are increasing the demand for many health professionals, from dental hygienists to physical therapists. That means nearly 5 million new jobs in the sector will be created by 2022.”
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the projected job growth for dental hygienists is 33 percent by 2022. The annual median salary for these professionals is $70,210.
